‘Liverpool celebrated the 4th of July by breaking the Guinness World Record for the Most Models on a Catwalk in its The Very Big Catwalk extravaganza. 

The record-breaking spectacle, formed part of the city’s Transatlantic 175 celebrations to mark the 175th anniversary of the first transatlantic crossing.’

SETTLEMENT, CORRIDOR 8, 2018

I trekked up Birkrigg Common to visit Rob Mulholland’s installation ‘Settlement’ (2018). It’s the first of five temporary and permanent artworks commissioned by Morecambe Bay Partnership, in partnership with Deco Publique, for the Headlands to Headspace programme, an initiative aiming to celebrate the Bay’s unique heritage.

‘A holiday destination for generations, but some who travelled across the globe to the Lancashire resort of Morecambe loved it so much they never left. Their stories are the subject of an exhibition at an iconic location in the town.’

‘I am working with a range of manufacturers in Lancashire to create a new sound installation in the former Tony’s Empress Ballroom in Blackburn town centre, as part of the Art In Manufacturing residencies project. Artists can play the role of archivist and social historian in ways that engage people and fire the imagination.’

STREET PARTY, NEWSPAPER CLUB, 2016

Morecombe-based artist Kate Drummond recently hosted a free newspaper hat making workshop for Street pARTy, a celebration of local art and creativity. The event marked the installation of a series of new, large-scale artworks on Victoria Street in Morecambe Town Centre, including two murals that Drummond worked on alongside other artists: The Sands and the Seas Wall and A Morecambe Sporting Life.
