Join Deco Publique as Creative Project Manager

We are seeking to appoint a Creative Project Manager to join the Deco Publique team based in Morecambe. This is a part time, fixed term role to support us to deliver a programme of art, culture and festival programming.

About Deco Publique: 

Deco Publique is an award winning creative & cultural practice based by the sea in Morecambe. We work creatively and operationally across a number of disciplines to direct, curate and produce beautiful cultural festivals and original art commissions that resonate with audiences and have tangible impacts that support the development of place-based cultural ecology. We build partnerships with communities, organisations and creative practitioners to create unforgettable moments in civic spaces in the North - transforming coastal, urban and rural landscapes with uplifting, accessible and memorable experiences. 

The Creative Project Manager will support the delivery of projects across the Deco Publique portfolio including the National Festival of Making, The FOLD and Vintage by the Sea.

Location: 

This role is based at the Deco Publique office in central Morecambe, just off the Promenade.

Details: 

Part time, fixed term contract from March 2020 for a minimum of six months, three days per week Monday to Thursday negotiable.

£22,500 - £25,000 pro rata per annum depending on experience.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has strong project management and organisational skills with an excellent ability to deliver artistic works from the development of an idea to the realisation and presentation to the audiences and participants we engage with. You will have an ability to work with diverse artforms and communities in the North West; and a passion for producing engaging and exciting work particularly with an emphasis on participation. You will have the drive and ambition to produce high quality experiences that are challenging, thought provoking and meaningful to the people we work with.

You will be able to deliver on time and to budget, managing multiple stakeholders and complex partnership working. You will draw up delivery schedules and logistics plans alongside our Production Team. You will work closely with the Directors and the Project Assistants in a small but fast paced team.

Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills

  • Experience of and interest in working across a broad range of artforms, sometimes with diverse community groups

  • Experience of working in a range of locations – both indoor and in the public realm

  • Experience of developing relationships with a range of stakeholders including arts organisations,   community groups, public & private sector organisations

  • Experience of working with or supporting a volunteer programme

  • Highly competent with budgets with a sound knowledge of following contracting procedures using company templates

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • Experience of monitoring and evaluation paperwork to meet funder requirements

  • Up to date knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications

About You: 

You will be a valued member of the Deco Publique team involved in the delivery of projects and commissions across all areas of the organisations work. Deco Publique is a small and highly motivated team, made up of the Company Directors, Project Assistants, Business and Accounts Administrator and freelance teams of creative industry experts. We seek a new team member to work with us to support the delivery of producing work that will help amplify and realise ambitious projects in Morecambe, Blackburn and the Lakes and Dales - you will work with us towards our goal of bringing outstanding, memorable artistic experiences and festivals to communities throughout the North.

Terms and Conditions

  1. This is a part time, fixed term contract from March 2020 for a minimum of 6 months

  2. It is expected that part-time hours will be agreed - 3 days per week between Mondays and Thursdays

  3. Attendance at the National Festival of Making on 6th & 7th June is a requirement of this role with other weekend and evening work between appointment and September 2020.
